What an incredible year 2016 was for The Prop House! Before our team jumps into 2017 it’s customary to reflect on the year that was. 2016 saw us working with many new and past clients. Our clients took our imagination to new heights (literally) and new venue spaces, giving us the opportunity to display how versatile our styling can be.
Read on for a small snippet on what kept us busy – perhaps you may even find inspiration for your events in 2017.
One of the most logistically challenging events of the year was set on the outdoor Terrace of a high rise building. Brisbane’s windy weather threatened the success of the event however our stylists’ tactical knowledge prevailed and the event was a HUGE hit! The Terrace was transformed into a comfortable Gin Bar that one would have in their own backyard or lounge room. A clear roof marquee framed the space filled with fresh greenery and a Pallet Bar. Outside of the marquee deep leather lounges and fresh White & Blue outdoor settings created a fantastic night under the stars for our client.
Old New York at The Races, what better way to watch the race than by having a drink at the Speakeasy Whisky Bar or feeling glamourous in the Art Deco Club. Our client also had the choice of taking their drink outdoors and lounging on one of the Park Benches of Central Park; I think the client could testify that, there was nothing better than watching the world (and horses) go by. To channel this theme the Marquee was transformed with Art Deco Style furniture and styling, rich textures and tones and a hint of glamour.
We get the pleasure of styling a number of fantastic events, however a favourite of ours is of course a fashion show! This fashion show was hosted under a Marquee. Dreamy draping and suspended birdcages lined the length the of runway. Guests took their seat on white and chocolate brown Tiffany chairs. The overall look of this Marquee ticked all the right boxes for Spring styling.
Lounging under blue skies, isn’t that what Brisbane’s Summers are all about? One of Brisbane’s premier venues shares the same love of endless blue skies and created a series of relaxed Sunday Brunches. Vibrant Bright Green Tropical Leaves and brightly coloured Fruits and Flamingos were the tones on these Sundays. Pallet Furniture and Market Umbrellas were set up to shade the guests and give them an area to sip away the afternoon.
When you have a Christmas Party to host what better venue than the blank canvas of an empty carpark! Fun, Fresh and Relaxing was the brief for this event with colourful Deck Chairs, Pallet Furniture with Fresh Greenery and Oversized Games filling the space. You definitely can’t go past our Marquee Letters in this set-up. They perfectly reflect off the carpark’s floor, almost sunning the deck chairs in the above photo. When sweet styling meets a unique space you know that you’re on to something good.
So with 2016 now done and dusted, the question is now, what will 2017 bring? All we can say is that we are sure it will exceed our expectations as we deliver premium service and product to both new and existing clients. Here’s to the exciting times ahead!
